The dinner served with Omi Beef is super nice!

The hotel sits right on the edge of Lake Biwa, a gorgeous spot. The rooms are simple but spotless, and while the pillows were a bit hard, the beds themselves were comfortable. The shower is downstairs from the rooms, and the toilet and shared basins are nearby. It feels like a hostel‑style place. Breakfast was just a toasted sandwich, and dinner offered a menu of three options. It’s a solid value if you’re not after fancy extras, though the hard pillows were a downside.

The service and reception were good.

Breakfast consisted of a chicken sandwich and apple juice, and coffee was free. Since there were few guests, I could relax. The only downside was that the bath could have been larger.

The staff were very friendly, and the bathrooms were nice, newly fitted, and always spotless, including toilets and laundry rooms. The family room with futons comfortably fit three people. The location right by the lake is great—just cross the path and you’re in the water, and about 50 m further is a pretty, relatively quiet beach. The 24‑hour supermarket is a 15‑minute walk, which is doable even in the heat. It would be better to have more storage and a larger drying rack, because hanging out bathing clothes is difficult. The house offers BBQs for day‑guests, so the room often smells of grilled food. If you’re looking for peace, there’s probably too much activity from the many day‑bathers, but that didn’t bother us.
