Located on the edge of the Etendeka Plateau, Grootberg Lodge features stone lodges with far-reaching views, an outdoor pool, and African décor. Each room has a furnished wooden terrace, thatched ceiling, and private bathroom with a shower overlooking the plateau. The lodge supports local welfare and conservation projects, offering nature walks, Himba tribe encounters, and Klip River Valley drives, as well as hiking and horseriding options.

The location is exceptional with an amazing view of the canyon, and the dinner is also delicious.

The view is gorgeous, the location fantastic, and the people are very friendly; the rooms are tidy. The check‑in process involved a lot of unnecessary explanations. Dinner was good and breakfast was fine. We later felt the price‑quality ratio was off; the service was fine but not outstanding, and for that price we expected more. Next time we might opt for the camping at Grootberg Lodge instead.
