The bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept on, but the open Velux window that I couldn't shut let in a lot of road noise.

The family and staff were very friendly and welcoming, and our room was a good size with a large, comfortable bed and a useful fan; everyone did their best for us despite the ongoing maintenance. However, the internet connection was very poor, there was no loo roll holder so we had to use the towel rail, no bathroom shelf or anything to put things on, only a little glass table from the room, just one clothing hanger, the Velux windows needed fixing, the menu was limited and breakfast was only offered at 7am.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the location was great, the beds were comfy and the room was spacious with good portions for breakfast, but the hotel was still being renovated, there were cobwebs, the bathroom was dirty and unfinished, the TV was playing up, there were no USB plugs, the room was on the road so noisy, there was no information pack with the wifi password in the room, the handrails on the stairs had splinters, and there was no dark‑room butter for breakfast.
