The view from Santa Teresa is great, but the samba at Guimarães makes it hard to relax—it's only over by 24. The old house was renovated, yet it still needs a lot of work, and the cleaning left something to be desired.

This hostel is amazing! The staff were top‑notch, and we loved the suite—clean, comfy, and everything we needed. The location is perfect, just a short walk from the metro, so we’ll definitely come back.

I’m a bit hesitant to rate a hostel right in the heart of Santa Teresa, on Guimarães Square, because I grew up, worked, and lived here. The hostel sits in a historic building with a lovely view, and I love Santa Teresa for its trams, art, architecture, and charm. The only downside? A mosquito bit me—got a little sting, but it was fine.

We slept in a double room with an en‑suite. The spot is nice, though a bit far from the metro—an Uber saves you a 20‑minute uphill walk. The neighborhood is touristy and scenic, with many volunteers working there. Every Saturday night there’s a samba party, and it’s not just locals. The room had a faint sewage smell, a somewhat dirty floor, ants in the bathroom, and the upper part of the bathroom walls was open and connected to the room.

The location is spot‑on, close to restaurants, bars, and Santa Teresa shops. The house is beautiful, perched on the hill’s slope with plenty of nature around, except for the Saturday samba that starts up.
