The location was ideal for a scenic drive from Yosemite to Colorado, but there were too many dogs.

History came alive downstairs in the common spa area, the spot was quiet even though it sits right on the highway, the on‑site restaurant was excellent, and the bath offered instant hot water. My room was basic yet comfortable and clean, lacking a fridge, microwave, or coffee maker, and there was no complimentary breakfast or happy hour.

The Victorian architecture was beautiful and the room we had was perfect, but parking was in an unsecured lot and our claw‑foot tub wobbled and was too tipsy for older people.
