“Motel was Good but wouldn't rate it Excellent”
The spot was close to I‑74, breakfast was clean and the options were decent, beds and pillows were fairly comfortable, the room was tidy, and high‑touch areas were disinfected with hospital‑grade sanitizer. Both the evening and morning desk clerks were pleasant. We chose this motel over a couple of others because the rating on Booking was Excellent, which swayed us, but it turned out to be a slightly older property that would be more accurately described as Good, especially given the cost of a single night. A few minor issues lowered the experience: water damage on the wall by the shower that was obviously patched, stains in the bathtub, a coffee maker with a basket of cups kept on the bathroom vanity probably because there weren’t enough outlets in the room, and the door to the room creaked loudly when opened and had to be pulled shut because it wouldn’t close on its own. How did this property earn its Excellent rating?
