We visited Kilwinning to see the land of our ancestors, and a proper Scottish house seemed ideal. This 1716-built property surpassed our expectations; the room was very comfortable and charming. Margaret, our host, was amazing and went far beyond to make our stay wonderful. Nothing was missing—we appreciated everything!

Margaret went out of her way to allow us to change our plans and check in early. The house was so quiet, never heard a door, water pipes, cars from the main road, absolutely nothing. Loved it. Nice breakfast, suited us, was offered more but not required. Nice grounds to enjoy, nice toiletries. No problems that bothered us, other than finding the bedroom door key difficult to operate, which produced great hilarity…to me! Had we been staying longer we would have had to mention it. We just presumed it was us!
