The location was good, but the room I received didn't match the description or photos—it faced a noisy main street even at night instead of the river view shown. The room was shabby, old, and the curtains wouldn’t open. There was a water leak in the toilet and the shower splashed everywhere.

The place is perfectly situated, just a few minutes’ walk to everything. Unfortunately, I was moved to a room without a balcony and the air‑conditioning couldn't cool the room enough given the extreme heat.

The location alone is amazing, right in the center and close to everything. However, there's no elevator, so carrying large bags or a stroller up the stairs is a hassle. The lobby was scorching hot; the two air‑conditioners were broken, making the hallway unbearably humid. I was first assigned a room where the neighboring AC units' outdoor units were right outside my window, producing unbearable noise. After requesting a change, I got a larger room that still felt like a cousin's and the bedsheets hadn't been changed. The hotel looks worn out; despite its low price, it isn't worth it.

The location is unbeatable, and every room has a balcony—I got one facing the river. Keep the doors shut because mosquitoes are everywhere. On Saturday and Sunday the road in front of the hotel is closed, so drivers can't park; Grabcar is a short walk away. The streets around are great for walking, with only a few stray cars that seem to have slipped in. Road closure means I had to walk a bit to reach Grabcar. I stayed in room 106 on the first floor, and the room desperately needed new paint—gross! The air‑con was broken, stuck at 16 °C all day, even when I turned it off, freezing us through the night and forcing us to wear multiple layers. The balcony door wouldn't open because mosquitoes would flood in. It felt like a winter wonderland all night—fix it or avoid room 106!

The only bright spot is the excellent location near Jonker Street. Unfortunately, a fungal infestation in the bathroom and surrounding area, plus no ventilation to stop mold, made the stay unpleasant. The lower‑level view is unacceptable because passersby can see straight into the room, and hot water was unavailable— the system was reported broken.
