“Disappointing & Not clean”

The location was good, but we stayed in two rooms—one in the stables and one in the courtyard—over three nights, and on the last night the guests next to us were incredibly loud. The lack of soundproofing is a real problem. When we complained about the noise, we were told there were no other rooms available, yet that seemed to change when my partner went to reception in person to complain. The rooms were not cleaned; dust and cobwebs were everywhere, linens had marks, and the decorative pillows had questionable stains. The kettle was broken and had stagnant water left in it, and the bedside lamps didn’t work. All of this is a shame because the location is good and the building itself is lovely, but there’s a clear lack of pride and effort.

“Dissappointing”

The shower room was far too small, the basin didn’t suit washing or shaving, the floorboards creaked and other guests were noisy. Breakfast was too limited and it definitely didn’t offer value for money.

The decorator and the staff were lovely, but the bed felt like concrete; a mattress topper would help, and if you’re selling overnight stays, a comfortable bed is pretty important.

The TV didn’t work, the bed felt like granite, the restaurant was closed without any notice or explanation, so I had to drive out to find food even though the website said it was open.
