Each room offers a private bath, tea and coffee facilities, and some feature carved wooden beds. Free on‑site parking and Wi‑Fi are available. Nearby, Clacton Golf Club is a 5‑minute drive, West Cliff Theatre a 10‑minute walk, and Colchester city centre 30 minutes by car.

The duvet was still in need of replacement because we froze on the first night when the heating was off; that should be checked. The second night we received an extra duvet that was better, but the central heating turned on initially and then stopped. Breakfast was excellent and exactly what we wanted. The bedroom was spacious, though it lacked storage. The heat in the room was a problem.

We were welcomed warmly upon arrival, told everything we needed, and shown to our room. The room was nice, spacious, and had everything we required, even a fridge which was a bonus. The bathroom was large and spotless, and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was amazing, lovingly prepared by Ann who was very attentive. The hotel is only a 5‑minute walk to town, which is brilliant, and free parking is available. We would definitely stay here again; it offers amazing value for money. Thank you for a lovely stay. The location was great, only a 3‑minute walk to the Princess Theatre for two shows. The beach and pier are just down the road. Breakfast was delicious, and the lady who cooked it and her granddaughter were very friendly and helpful. The receptionist was also very helpful and tried her best to assist with any requests. We really enjoyed our stay. Our pillows had lumps and were very hard, and the heating didn’t come on the first night, so it was a bit cold. Both issues were resolved by Adora, and the second night’s sleep was lovely.

The bed was very uncomfortable and the room was cold, though it was otherwise nice. Breakfast was good and the staff were friendly. A new mattress is needed, and the room should be heated.
