“Excellent hotel at great value”
The facilities were great for the price, and in fact they exceeded my expectations. A few very minor maintenance items could use attention.

Almost everything was good. The room got too hot because the main heating pipe ran through it; it should be insulated to stop so much heat leaking into the room.

I stayed at a charming period property that really had character, and the staff were genuinely attentive, friendly, and the food was good. The room itself was nice, and since we booked a discounted rate I couldn't complain about the lack of bedside tables, lamps, or plugs; everything else was fantastic.

The hotel’s location was good, the setting pretty nice, and the rooms were well sized; my bathroom was new and spotlessly clean. However, the bar shuts at 10 pm, which feels ridiculously early, and the breakfast, advertised as continental, lacked croissants, pastries, or even jam for toast.

The bed was comfortable, but the breakfast was overcooked, the toaster wasn’t working properly, and the public toilets clearly need major repairs.
