The location is very good as a base for Chania. There was a bit of a lack of space – we had three large suitcases and there was nowhere to put them, which was problematic.

The hotel is new and well maintained, and the staff are very friendly. The building is close to a busy road, so even with the windows shut you can hear cars; bring earplugs. It takes 30 minutes on foot to reach the old town centre.

We absolutely loved the room, and the garden around it was incredible. The terrace outside our room was great. The mattress was a little firm. The hotel is a 20‑minute walk from the city centre. It sits in a residential area, so it’s very nice and quiet.

The location is fairly central (though a bit far from the port). The staff’s attentiveness, the convenience of the virtual key system, the shared outdoor space, and the overall aesthetics of the room and building were all positives. There was a complete lack of cooking facilities – beyond the missing microwave in the room, there should have been something in the common area to cook or at least reheat food. The mini‑fridge was truly tiny; we had to remove the shelves to store a few bottles. The glass door to the bathroom/WC had a 2‑cm gap above and below, so not only could you see the person on the toilet, but every little noise was audible. The room was quite small – barely enough room to move around the bed, which was inconvenient with luggage.
