I was greeted by Bernice, who was incredibly kind and welcoming, and I appreciated all the small touches in the lodge—facts about Ireland, a hand‑drawn map with recommendations, room names displayed above the doors, and a huge selection of board games in the kitchen. The breakfast was tasty and plentiful.

The place was modern and spacious, and Bernice turned out to be a fantastic host who accommodated our dietary needs; her scones were also delicious. The rocks and gravel outside the car entrance made it hard to bring our suitcase in, but we managed to carry it over, and the stairs meant we had to lift the suitcase up—nothing major, but worth mentioning for anyone less mobile.

Bernice and her husband arranged the house superbly; the room was perfect, and the home‑made breakfast was extra. Bernice’s kindness brightens your day. It might be a little close to the road, but my night was very quiet.
