The pool‑styled hot spring was fantastic—I never expected to find a Japanese‑style onsen vibe in New Zealand. It would be perfect if they added a shelf and a laundry basket for changing, like you’d see in a Japanese public bath, even if it’s just for rentals.

The place was close to everything, whether by walking or driving, and the receptionist was lovely, very helpful and accommodating. The location was nice and quiet, and the market was just around the corner, which was perfect.

The place was simply excellent, a large bedroom apartment with a fully equipped kitchen. The washer and dryer were paid, very convenient. The owner, Yong, is a wonderful guy who helped with everything. The stay was great, thank you. Everything was excellent.

The hot spring was simply outstanding, and I’m glad I’m Japanese; the room had all the necessary amenities, a heating system kept it comfortably warm, and the host’s thoughtful gestures were much appreciated—I’ll never forget the waters of Rotorua. No complaints at all.
