Dinner, bed and breakfast, and the daily breakfast menu that suggested local walks and provided tide times were all great, and the staff were helpful and friendly, but it would have been nice to have a small car park; we ended up parking on the road.

The restaurant served excellent food and offered a good selection of ales and beers, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The bathroom had just been renovated, and a paper note on the back of the breakfast menu with a 'walk of the day' and weather forecast was a nice touch. However, the room faced the alleyway that the kitchen uses, so there was some noise when the kitchen closed at the end of the night, and the fire door slammed close to the room.

The location was great, the hotel was steeped in history, very comfortable, the food excellent, and the staff very attentive. Nothing negative.
