Mountain and Moon, Dharamkot

The spot in Dharamkot is perfect, just a stone's throw from the Chabad house, and the view is stunning! The room, however, wasn’t the cleanest—especially the shower. They didn’t have a shower curtain, so they just hung a towel outside. I stayed two nights and the room wasn’t cleaned between stays, so if you’re willing to compromise on cleanliness, the price is great.

The accommodation is in a pleasant area with many nearby hiking trails, including the Triund trail. The host was very attentive throughout the stay. The place has a bit of moisture problems, but I don’t expect other accommodations to be better. Dharamshala’s mountain climate is generally more humid, especially during the monsoon when we were there.

If you’re looking for a place in East Dharamkot, this is the one. It’s a 2‑minute walk from the Chabad house and close to the yoga center (Lokis) and all the cafés and restaurants. The staff upgraded my room, which was awesome. I booked an extra night and was asked to pay in cash because they claimed the credit card was faulty—an unacceptable response.
