The hotel’s location is superb, dinner and breakfast were very good, and the staff were friendly and accommodating; it’s a great base for Harz excursions. Unfortunately parking was problematic – we could use the large parking lot at Hotel Kanzler, but it was already full during our day trip, so we had to look elsewhere; on the bright side, we could park all four motorcycles in the hotel’s garage.

Great location, the food was tasty, and the value for money was very good.
Even when I arrived late, the cook was happy to prepare a meal for me, and the staff were super friendly. However, about 90 % of the hotel cushions are just too soft, though the shower was good.

A charming half‑timber building with historic vibes makes for a pleasant overnight stay; the rustic dining area and friendly staff complete the picture, so we’ll return. The trip felt too short, the parking wasn’t right next to the house, and that was a small downside.
