“Heerlijk relact”

The first thing that struck me was how peaceful it was, and the bed was the best part – a lovely breakfast with an egg! The surroundings were beautiful for cycling, so overall it’s worth repeating. I can’t say anything else.

You can see a forest from the room, but you also hear a busy road right next to it – you can’t see it, but you can definitely hear it. The place wasn’t clean; the bed was covered in stains and the bedding was clearly worn out and should have been replaced long ago. The bathroom was also very dirty, and there was no ventilation or cooling. We stayed on very hot days and the heat inside was unbearable. The property sits on the edge of a forest and you can see the trees, but it’s also right next to a busy road that’s a stone’s throw away and therefore constantly audible.

“Mooie locatie maar we hadden meer verwacht.”

The B&B is great because it’s surrounded by beautiful nature on both sides, and even though it’s on a busier road, we didn’t have much trouble. Communication before arrival was fine. We found the stay quite basic for a B&B, maybe because we’re a bit different. The beds were personally a bit too soft for us, and the room had no blackout curtains, so we woke up early in the morning. We also missed some basics like an extra roll of toilet paper, sugar/milk for coffee, tea spoons, a dish towel (to wash after breakfast service), a hanger or rack in the bathroom for towels, a sink plug, and napkins or kitchen paper at breakfast. Because of this we had to do some shopping ourselves. We used the breakfast service, but it didn’t fully meet our expectations. We didn’t expect breakfast to be arranged through a catering service. The spread wasn’t to our taste and there was little clarity or alternative for a lactose‑free breakfast. It’s also good to know that you’re responsible for the dishes after breakfast. Unfortunately, our stay ended with some confusion about the breakfast price. In the end we had to pay more than the price that had been communicated to us beforehand. This led to a rather long unpleasant WhatsApp conversation. The owner said it was due to settings in the accounting program, but we would have preferred that the pre‑communicated price had simply been kept.
