“Convenient, clean and has the basics.”
We found the spot convenient because it’s within walking distance of the ferry terminal, and the bed was comfy. The room came with instant coffee packets and a shower that had great pressure. Checking in was straightforward; the front desk had our keys ready even though the official check‑in time was 3 pm, so we could grab them when we got off the ferry at 2 pm. A shared fridge in the hallway made storing things easy. On the downside, there were only two pillows—ideally two per person—and just one towel per person. The layout was awkward: a bed, a long couch beside it, a narrow table that looked more like a hall table than a desk with a small chair, and a loveseat in the corner, leaving no comfortable spot for two people to sit, eat, or watch TV except in bed, which isn’t practical. The power outlets were old, didn’t hold plugs well, and the voltage fluctuated a lot, so our US phone chargers kept cycling on and off all night. The single outlet near the teapot had a very short cord, forcing us to place the kettle on the floor and unplug the TV—very inconvenient. The bathroom needed more shelves; it was hard to find space for all our toiletries. Breakfast was no longer offered after 15 September because it was off‑season, which we understood but missed. Late at night, loud teens across the street kept us awake, so we had to shut the window, even though we’d prefer it open to keep the room cooler; the heater on the lowest setting still left it quite warm.
