We stayed here with my wife, and Anand and his wife welcomed us warmly. They constantly offered us delicious hot tea, asked how we were doing and if we liked Ella, and happily chatted with us. Anand is very responsive—if you need anything, just ask and he'll try to help. Because of that attitude we felt more like guests of good friends than mere occupants. The room turned out very clean and spacious, especially compared to the accommodation we had in southern Sri Lanka. There was no air conditioner, but we didn't need it in Ella: the mountains were fresh and cool, and the ceiling fan was more than enough, even at night. The breakfasts deserve special mention. They cooked an omelet with sausages, served tea and ketch, and also yogurt. Everything was tasty and filling. There were no significant drawbacks for us. The lack of an air conditioner in Ella's climate was not felt, and we had no other problems.

The Ananda Rest is one of the most beautiful places I’ve stayed at. It’s surrounded by tea trees and has a wonderful terrace where you can relax and watch the birds. Because I had sprained my foot, it turned out to be the perfect place to recover. For my friend, it was a good spot to start his hike. The room is very spacious and the bed is cozy, especially the pillows. There’s plenty of space to put things. The hosts are super accommodating and friendly! They organized a nice tea tour with transport for me since I wasn’t walking well. You can also do laundry here and any questions are taken care of. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner, both simply excellent, and they even prepared vegan options on request. Throughout the day you’re looked after, whether it’s tea or fruit. If you’re into gemstones, you’ll find what you’re looking for here. I recommend it to anyone staying in the area who wants to find peace.

“Great hospitality, delicious food, peaceful surroundings, and a wonderful host.”

We had a fantastic stay at Ananda Rest in Ella. The rooms were quiet, clean, and comfortable, with cozy beds and hot-water showers—everything we needed for a relaxing stay. A special mention goes to Mr. Anandha, whose hospitality was truly exceptional. He picked us up from Ella town at midnight and even prepared dinner for us when we arrived. We were incredibly touched by his kindness and warm welcome. Waking up to the sound of birds singing was such a beautiful experience. The food was top-notch, and the whole place genuinely felt like home. We will definitely visit again and highly recommend Ananda Rest to anyone visiting Ella!

The food was absolutely excellent and delicious—an undeniable highlight of the stay. The room itself was very comfortable and clean, offering a perfect place to relax. On top of that, the service was incredibly warm and friendly, making me feel right at home.

“Hervorragende Unterkunft mitten in der Natur unweit von Ella”

The location is very good, right in the middle of nature just a short distance from Ella, and the hospitality is very warm, even with our son; we received tips for excursions. The breakfast on the beautiful terrace with tasty tea is always good, and we could observe many animals from the terrace. The room is bright with a view of the lovely garden, and the bathroom has a warm shower and a shower curtain. Excellent hiking opportunities (e.g. Ella Rock, Nine Arch Bridge, to Ella, etc.) are directly from the accommodation. Many restaurants with great views of Ella are in the immediate vicinity; there is also a good hairdresser just around the corner. Parking directly at the accommodation is free. Wi‑Fi has sufficient quality for watching videos. The possibility to get a cheap TukTuk ride directly from the accommodation is also available. Nothing negative overall; it would be nice to have a high chair for toddlers.
