The hostel no longer exists; it was sold and turned into a hotel with higher rates, and for months it has been unable to adjust its offerings. Our booking was not accepted and we had to settle for a higher price.

Breakfast was good, but signs along the road to Hagfors Hostel advertised food for sale, while in reality breakfast required payment and there was no other food available unless it was an event or a large pre‑ordered group.

The staff were friendly and helpful, but the shower room’s ventilation made a loud noise, and the drying of the shower area could have been improved, for example with underfloor heating.

They offered simple drinks like coffee/tea and free yogurt, and the rooms were nice and pleasant. However, the corridor had high humidity and a moldy floor, and water dripped from a vent in the ceiling, making me wonder what the cause was.
