“An enjoyable stay, would return.”
The hotel is lovely, very stylish, and intriguing, with a charming vibe that would suit couples and friend groups. The room was comfortable and spotless, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The only drawback is that it isn’t accessible for people with mobility issues; there are many stairs and no lifts, which is understandable given it’s an old building conversion.

The location is excellent, the hotel and room are quirky and very clean, and the staff are lovely. However, the bathroom was far too small, and the tiny sink on top of the toilet cistern was a big no for us. It wasn’t very nice. We stayed in the “sublime” room and it was very noisy until the early hours; I know you’re in a city, but keep that in mind when choosing your room. The duvet was too small for the duvet cover.

The Impossible Motel is a superb spot for those who enjoy something a little quirky. Its location is perfect for exploring all that York has to offer, and even though it’s very central, you don’t get a lot of noise. We stayed in the Red Room, which was very kitsch and we loved it, and the bath in that room is amazing. The staff are very friendly, professional, attentive, and knowledgeable. We loved our stay and will definitely come back to try another room.
