The spot is great because everything is close by—just two blocks from the fort, ATMs, restaurants, and the beach club that guests can use with perks. A bit more info on the no‑sail day (Wednesday) would help, and there’s a little bustle from people heading out on tours.

The location is excellent, a block from the center, and the price‑to‑quality ratio is solid. In the mornings it gets busy because it’s also a marina where you can catch a lagoon tour, and they have a beach club for swimming and a day out. At night it’s very quiet, and staying with them gives you discounts on tours and the restaurant, which serves exquisite dishes. Even though it’s on the lagoon’s edge, it’s not advisable to swim there because boats come and go, which could be dangerous, but the beach club offsets that.

It’s just a few minutes’ walk from San Felipe’s fort, and the beds are comfy. The cabin we were given required climbing a nasty staircase up to a shop, had no shower water, didn’t tell us we had a 10 % discount at the restaurant, the towels were dirty, and the room wasn’t cleaned.

The place is well‑situated. There’s no hot water, and the shower pressure is often very low. The bathroom was dirty when we arrived, the outdoor bath was inadequate and had no seat. The stairwell to the upper‑floor cabin is a tiny, unsafe spiral with two loose steps. The staff are not friendly or helpful. There’s no Wi‑Fi, no water or food storage spots, both doors scrape the floor, the main room door doesn’t lock securely, and one blind gets stuck on the window.

The location was fine for what I wanted to do, but the room was bad—an uncomfortable bed, no toilet seat, no hot water. At check‑in, when I mentioned the missing toilet seat, the guy said “welcome to Mexico”; it was the only place in Mexico I’ve stayed without a toilet seat, and I’ve stayed in many!
