“Traditional property with huge swimming pool”
We loved the absolutely huge swimming pool—it’s as big as the photos show and the temperature was just right when we were there in mid‑August. The many sun loungers, chairs, and large tables with plenty of crockery and cutlery were also great. The house is traditional, with many rooms being en suite or having their own bathroom across the hall. The pool table was a nice surprise. Towels were plentiful and good (though you’d need to bring your own pool towels). The gardens were lovely and very large. The local restaurant Perla Nera is definitely worth a visit; their set menus were fabulous and great value for money, and the welcome was warm. It wouldn’t take much to make this property truly special—just a few tweaks here and there (we gave specific feedback orally to the property manager at checkout, hoping he took it constructively). Things like bins and soap dispensers in the bathrooms, mats to wipe feet when coming from outside (the evenings were quite stormy during our stay, so outside dirt was easily tracked in), a dishwasher that works properly (we ended up washing by hand for the 10 of us, which was a bit disappointing), a lighter that actually works to light the gas hobs… bring mosquito and horse fly repellent (although it’s unfair to blame the property, they’ve been bad this year everywhere). It’s a proper country property, with neighboring cockerels and all. A few essentials like salt, pepper, and oil would have been useful and are usually available in house rentals. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this property, but there is so much potential.
