We were glad to find a spot in the monastery when most hotels were full; it was quiet, tidy, and the rooms were roomy enough for two with a handy sink, plus breakfast was simple but adequate and the coffee was good. The shared toilets required us to bring our own shower gel, some rooms were a bit far from them, and there were no nearby restaurants, so we had to plan meals in the surrounding towns.

We enjoyed the two days at Nikolauskloster; the value for money was solid and the breakfast was especially good, but the communal pool wasn’t to our taste, which we knew beforehand and was reflected in the price.
