The place sits in a very quiet spot outside town, the staff are motivated, kind, and helpful, the breakfast and restaurant offer excellent food, the sauna area with a Finnish sauna and infrared sauna is beautifully set up, and it’s perfect for hiking trips right in the forest.

The hotel is beautiful, the location is already special with a view into the Saaletal, Rudolstadt at your feet, and the Heidecksburg nearby; kudos to the kitchen/chef – the food was very good! Breakfast was attractively presented, especially the homemade jams like the “real” blueberry jam and lingonberry jam – who else has those? Childhood memories came rushing back :-) The staff were courteous and friendly. The room was well equipped, spacious, and very clean. I have nothing to criticize.

The rooms are pretty with excellent mattresses, the kitchen serves well‑prepared dishes, and the view into the valley is magnificent.
