The old town with the N12 road to Graaffreinet via the blade of the routes was nice, and there were no complaints.

A fantastic quiet and safe spot with a lovely courtyard, everything needed, a very friendly welcome, and a wonderful heated bed.

The lodge was peaceful, but we had no hot water and had to deal with cold water in the chill. We weren’t told that staff could enter to clean while we were away. The 13:00 check‑in felt late because we had to wait elsewhere before arriving, and the 10:00 check‑out seemed too early, cutting into our breakfast time. There was no check‑list for what’s in the lodge at check‑in or check‑out, which would have made things easier and avoided misunderstandings about missing items or guest concerns while staff had access.
