The property was stunning; the staff were kind and friendly, and the innkeeper even drove me to the bus stop in the rain, which I think is exceptional service. I didn’t want to leave my room because it was even more perfect than I imagined, with a soaking tub and two window seats for reading—couldn’t ask for more, and I’d love to return for a weekend of just reading in the room and leaving only for food. The weather and the matchmaking festival being more lively for anyone under 70 on a Thursday night are outside the inn’s control, so I have nothing negative to say about that.

The staff were wonderful, the bed was comfy, and the windows let in fresh air; the front recreation room had games, books, and more, plus a newly renovated bathroom. The older inn building, though lovely, had quirks like old skeleton keys, no TV in the room, and no elevator, and it was farther from other local hotels. The water heater broke during my stay, but I could rebook a night and get a refund.

The property was easy to reach, had a nice guest lounge, and the rooms were pleasant; both of the two different rooms we stayed in had full bath tubs. The first‑floor rooms had a patio, and the gardens at the back were beautiful. It’s a short, easy walk into town, close to restaurants and pubs, and driving into Doolin, the Cliffs of Moher, and around the Burren is straightforward. Getting luggage up the stairs was difficult, and the older property has uneven flooring.

Elegant, with a large room that offered a view; the concierge was helpful, and the breakfast was excellent, though it wasn’t included in the price. Breakfast should be part of the room rate.
