The hotel was spotlessly clean, which was a big plus.
The view from the bathroom window was breathtaking.

The hotel is in a historic building, nicely renovated. The rooms are functional but have no view. The breakfast room is nice and the breakfast is good. The parking is far from the hotel, making it awkward with luggage. The reception staff were not very customer‑oriented, and at check‑out no one was on site or reachable by phone.
“Lovely location, fab breakfast, nice staff - hotel room a bit of a disappointment”
The breakfast was excellent and the staff were lovely. The location was peaceful and great. The shower knob in the bathroom was defective – you could only get lukewarm water and it was too late to get someone to look at it before we had to go to breakfast. When we pointed out the issue to the front desk, they just said “thanks” – no other offer of amelioration – which I found a little disappointing from a hotel that was definitely not low‑cost and had a good reputation. As for the room design – the coffee‑making facilities were very basic, and the kettle had to be moved to another location to be plugged in – after unplugging a lamp (no plug points or lights where they placed the kettle, mugs and coffee/sugar – and also no coffee creamer at all). It would be nice (in this day and age) to have plugs or USB ports at the bedside to charge phones/laptops etc. No hooks or rails in the bathrooms for hand towels and washbags – easily remedied.
I liked the Reformadinho, but there was no window.
“Sehr schöner Aufenthalt in ruhiger Lage”
The spacious room with a view of the rose garden was generous. It was beautifully modernised while keeping the original framework. The furnishings were well‑matched. A champagne voucher for the wine shop was included. The breakfast was tasty (the coffee machine also offers oat milk!). Note that if you’re walking: if you don’t want to eat at the monastery tavern, the next restaurant is relatively far (about 45 minutes to Kiedrich).
The location is unique, very beautiful and quiet! We were housed in a different building, a whole block away from the main house, and that wasn’t mentioned beforehand. The breakfast was very poorly restocked; that should not happen in a hotel of this price class. In one of the booked rooms there were spiders in the bathroom. The showers were mouldy in the corners.
