Hotel Altes Gymnasium in Husum features elegant rooms and suites with flat-screen TVs, Italian furniture, and English fabrics, some with balconies. The 1,900 m² health centre boasts an indoor pool, two saunas, and a gym, along with massage services. Regional meals are served in the restaurant Eucken, and free Wi-Fi is available in the lobby and select rooms.

The pool, reception (upon arrival and departure), cleanliness, elevator, and ambience were all positive. However, the lighting was weak and poorly positioned throughout most of the building, there were many small defects and shortcomings (e.g., bathtub thermostat stuck, cabinet locks and window hooks loose, low‑quality or missing bathroom amenities, tissues not refilled, mattress deformed, pillow fillings insufficient, coffee not hot, the exterior entrance to the restaurant extremely unkempt), among other issues.

Excellent location, close to the harbor and great restaurants, and near train and bus lines. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was very good—definitely will return! Nothing stood out as problematic.
