Old Town Suites

I liked the location—it was exactly where I wanted to be. It was a bit noisy, but that’s expected for the spot. The room was spotless and the bed comfortable. Daily room service met all my needs. The bathroom was clean but could use a touch of TLC. Soft, fluffy towels, toiletries, and a hairdryer (not that I have much hair) were provided. The room had a TV, air‑conditioning, iron and board, a safe, a fridge, and complimentary water. I almost forgot to mention the coffee machine. As a solo traveller, I found this place excellent value for money. Being a smoker, the small balcony was great for people‑watching. Nothing else bothered me, though the bathroom could use a little TLC.

“Perfect for short stay”

The spot is spot-on for a short stay in Chania, perched right above the shops and bars, but it can get a bit noisy at night because of its proximity to the main square.

The Old Town Suites sits right in the heart of the city, and the bar crew were genuinely friendly. I stayed in Room 1, which looks out over the bars, and the loud music kept blasting until 2 am, ruining my sleep the whole time. The toilet and shower need a refresh; I couldn't tell if they were clean because the shower holder was broken, the toilet rim had plaster and a nasty stain, and the towel holder snapped. Communication was a nightmare—no website, email, or phone number, so I worried the place wasn’t legit. It took a couple of days to get a reply, and when I reported the room problems the response was slow. The Phi Bar staff checked me in and were nice, and the cleaner was polite, but they don’t replace towels or change sheets unless you ask them directly. Although the location is great and the historic décor is lovely, the stay didn’t feel worth the money because the facilities are outdated and the communication could be far better.
