Located at the foot of Mount St Odile in Alsace, Hotel Restaurant L'Ami Fritz is an 18th-century stone building offering free WiFi and parking. Guests can hire electric bicycles upon request. Rooms feature flat-screen TVs and private bathrooms. The hotel's 'Winstub' and 'Kamistub' restaurants serve regional cuisine in a warm atmosphere, with a shaded summer terrace and buffet breakfast.

Breakfast was good, but the room was far too cramped. Room 226 was only reachable by a very narrow staircase, a result of the “add‑on chaos”. There was no window or mechanical ventilation in the bathroom/WC of room 226.

The room was beautiful, clean, quiet, and comfortable, and the staff were friendly. The surroundings were great for hiking in Odilienberg. Unfortunately, there was no table left for dinner in the restaurant during our stay, and that was our fault—we forgot to book in advance. This is highly recommended because the restaurant is very popular.
