“Apart from the initial communications hiccup (language) the place was great; would repeat”

The location is fantastic – I walked everywhere. I haven’t stayed in a room with a domed ceiling and solid wooden cupboards in a long time, and breakfast was more than adequate. Two of the three front‑desk staff had very limited English, but we managed to communicate (one even called his daughter to translate). The English‑speaking staff gave me detailed directions to wherever I wanted to go, taking me out of the hotel and pointing me in various directions.

The room access was by stairs; there was an elevator, but two rooms required climbing two steps up the stairs.

We couldn’t enjoy the stay because the hotel was under renovation and we weren’t warned until we arrived. We were moved to a 2‑storey B&B in an old building without an elevator. Otherwise, the accommodation was fine, but we had no private parking.

Breakfast was excellent – the buffet style spread was superb, and the location was great, though the surrounding area (especially the walk to the parking) was a bit dirty. The room was very comfortable and the whole property was clean. The only downside was the messy surroundings, which isn’t the hotel’s fault.

The hotel didn’t follow the booking instructions: the single beds were not single but double, and the three‑bed rooms were too small for three people.
