The location was very convenient, just a short walk from the gate into Kruger National Park. However, the accommodation was a tent with shared bathrooms, which was disappointing. A blackout occurred shortly after we checked in and could not be fixed, forcing us to leave. We also had trouble getting our money back.

Tented camp no 3 had faulty air conditioning and a fridge that didn’t work well in the heat. The outside drain was blocked and left unfinished. Despite these issues, the showers and ablutions were clean.

The lodges exuded a wonderful rustic charm and were a fabulous base for accessing Kruger Phalabowra Gate, only about a 2‑minute drive each time. The patio decks and fire pits offered comfy seating.
