Nestled in a quiet side street inside Dubrovnik’s UNESCO‑listed old town, Guesthouse Vicelic lies a five‑minute walk from the rocky beach and the bus station, and steps from vibrant bars and Dalmatian restaurants. Air‑conditioned rooms offer private bathrooms, TVs, and wardrobes. Complimentary Wi‑Fi connects guests, while a shared kitchen with fridge provides communal convenience.

The place sits on a beautiful street right in the heart of Old Town, and the beds were comfortable, the rooms super clean with either air‑con or fresh air; our host was fantastic, helping with luggage, giving great recommendations, and arranging a very early morning airport pickup.

As everyone says, the owner Darko was courteous and quick to respond, always looking after guests; after arrival we mainly communicated via WhatsApp—though I don't use it in Japan, I recommend installing it for your stay. When we did a SkyBike on Sluz Mountain, the staff took photos and sent them through the app. The room and bathroom were clean and spacious enough for a Japanese person, and the hair dryer was handy. The shared kitchen already had a mug with instant coffee and tea bags, showing thoughtful care; the fridge sits under the kitchen. The only downside unrelated to the accommodation is that entering from the main street onto the alley requires climbing stairs, so carrying a heavy suitcase can be tough—my medium‑size carry‑case was manageable, but it was a bit of a struggle.

I liked that it was in Old Town, close to the gate where you exit for taxis, the airport, buses, etc.; the room was squeaky clean. Everything was small for me, but that’s just Old Town, surrounded by historic buildings.

The location is ideal right in the middle of Old Town, though you do have to climb some stairs to reach the guesthouse; all sights are within a 5‑minute walk. The bathroom was very cramped, especially the toilet, making it a bit tight to use. The self‑service check‑in with the key box was a challenge at first but ultimately worked; there was little personal contact once you arrived with the staff.

It’s in the old city, close to everything. If you don’t mind stairs, the facility had everything we needed, and it was easy to walk to the main street for tours, a food store, and restaurants either up or down the steps.
