Thanks for the warm welcome and your readiness to help, but as usual in Cambodia, the pillows are a bit too bulky and hard.

The reception staff were helpful, the small town has a nice beach, few shops and restaurants, and the price is good, though you could find similar accommodation elsewhere on the island for the same cost. They kindly let us use their helmets because our motorbike rental from the beach didn’t provide them, which we appreciated. The room itself wasn’t very nice; it felt a little old but that wasn’t a problem for us. What bothered me was that it felt dirty. The bathroom bin hadn’t been emptied properly and still had a small amount of rubbish from presumably the last guests. The sink drain had so much hair and just dirt left in it. The bedding should have been replaced a long time ago, especially the pillowcases were extremely bobbly and worn out, making it uncomfortable to sleep on. Finally, the door had such a big gap at the top that we could actually fit our hand through to the outside, letting in many flies and mosquitoes. In the end we decided to stay on the island longer but moved to a different hotel.
