The place was very neat and tidy! It required a car to get there, which was fine for me. I had a bit of trouble with the key box at night, but that was just me.

Parking was easy and the location was straightforward to find. The room layout seemed well thought out, with plenty of space for clothes. Unfortunately the bedding hadn’t been changed, so there were hairs and dirty marks; I didn’t feel comfortable sleeping on it and used my own items to cover it. I felt cold at night, probably because I didn’t use the duvet and my blanket wasn’t enough. The bathroom wasn’t cleaned thoroughly: a stained toilet roll sat in the basket, and the dish on the sink had dirty, stagnant water. I was hesitant to use the towels because I wasn’t sure they were clean. Overall it wasn’t the relaxing stay I expected. The milk provided, while a nice touch, was expired.

It looked great when I finally got in, but it quickly deteriorated. The bed linen was unwashed and stained, pillowcases and pillow protectors had awful brown stains from sweat and drool, and someone had clearly slept on the sheets. The green throw over the bed was covered in bits of old food. I even turned the pillowcase inside out to avoid the grime. The bedroom had a dirty smell that was masked with air freshener. The milk for morning coffee was expired. The tea/coffee station was dirty, with old coffee splashed on the unit. The toilet was dirty around the hinges, the bathroom floor was dirty, and the sink had a sponge and a mouldy tray supposedly for cleaning. In the evening, I felt an electrical buzz through the metal light switch for the bathroom. The towels were black or black and grey, and I wasn’t sure they were clean because nothing else was. The host never visited, but if she had, I would have shown her all these issues.

It was very welcoming and the spot was perfect! Lots of lovely little touches and everything was very comfortable. Nothing to complain about.

Everything was peaceful and set in lovely surroundings; Amanda does everything she can for you, and the room has everything you need. She even cooked a Sunday roast and dinner the next night for me and my baby. Nothing to note otherwise.
