The bed in the church was comfy after brutal days of walking, it did the job and the dry room was an added bonus.

Denise the owner is a gem. She offered us tea on arrival. The place was clean and comfortable. The drying room was excellent. The kitchen and common room were great. It was a complete antidote to the corporate emptiness of chains. A little glimpse of real Yorkshire – I felt so much better afterward.

Clean hostel with all the facilities we needed for our Coast to Coast Hike, close to a good selection of places to eat & drink. I would highly recommend trying the homemade pies in The Taggy Arms – it doesn’t look appealing from the outside but is a lovely gem inside!!

The vibe there was great, and the drying room was a real help. The host wasn’t very friendly to German travelers and seemed annoyed by questions, but the other hikers made up for it.
