The room was huge, spotless and comfortable, and the one I booked had city views from a high floor; I liked the location because I needed a hotel near Kunming South station for a 7:12 am train the next day, although it’s actually about a 45‑minute metro ride from the centre, the plus side being it sits right by exit B of Yihe Road on line 1/2, which share a platform; the staff were friendly and even walked me through how the elevator works, showing me the card reader on the floor—something I’d figured out before but they were the only ones who actually explained it to me.
I suspect this hotel gets most bookings through trip.com and similar sites rather than Booking; I wrote to them in Chinese when I booked and again when I was about to arrive, but never got a reply, whereas other Chinese hotels always responded, so any pre‑arrival contact will be nil; many Chinese hotels now use AI translators, but they still end up translating everything into English.
