The spot is fantastic, perfectly peaceful and only a short boat ride from the shore, with someone always ready to drop you off or pick you up. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated, and there’s nothing I’d change.

You can stay on the houseboat at a reasonable price, and when you head into town the owner arranges the boat for you, offering free shuttle between the houseboat and gate 7; hot water and tasty breakfast are provided. Most of all, the lake view from the houseboat is stunning and soothing. The owner is a charming, travel‑loving conversationalist who works hard for guests, and he carefully explains how to reach each attraction, which was very helpful. Like all houseboats, there are power outages twice a day (one hour in the morning and one in the evening). The shared space is bright and open, but the private rooms are a bit dim. Because it’s on the lake, storing food in the room can attract small animals, so it’s best not to keep food there. The bathroom has a slightly odd odor, probably due to its lake location, so having a fragrance spray would make it more pleasant.
