Hyatt Centric Chicago Magnificent Mile

The hotel was great; the room was spacious and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The location was excellent and convenient. My husband thoroughly enjoyed breakfast each morning, and we also had dinner at the Bridge one night. The food was excellent and priced well: I had the mushroom tacos and my husband had the charcuterie plate, both generous and delicious. Service was very friendly. The pillows were too firm for me, and there was no place in the bathroom for toiletry cases.

“Awful 😖”

The location was good, but it was expensive and noisy—both inside the hallway and outside the windows. The "handicapped" room bathroom door was so heavy that it was hard to open and close. The mattress sank where others had slept. Most of all, the TV didn't work, and when I called the desk I only heard "sorry, it's raining outside." No one was offered to fix it; the lady at checkout said, "They didn't send anyone to fix it?" No, they didn't, so we sat there all night with nothing to watch unless we paid more money. This is the worst place I've stayed at, and we travel a lot. They offered no discount or anything!

The equipment is good, the restaurant is fine, and the location is central. However, it’s immediately next to a hospital with frequent loud sirens, and the price/value is not good.

“The most extremely stressful stay ever.”

We loved how clean the rooms were and how comfy the beds were. The rooms had been nicely renovated. The front desk staff were pleasant, though not overly eager to greet us. When we arrived in the evening we couldn’t enter the lobby because nobody seemed to be on duty. We spent 20‑25 minutes on the sidewalk before someone finally answered the speaker call button. We were there for medical reasons—appointments with doctors, diagnostic procedures, and other treatments. We booked a wheelchair‑accessible room and bathroom, but none were available, so we couldn’t secure a room that met our needs. One front desk employee tried to help by upgrading our room for the second night, but the new bathroom still lacked any safety grab bars in the shower, tub, and toilet area. We couldn’t shower until the final morning of our stay and had to improvise by buying a shower chair and portable grab bars for the walk‑in shower. The two‑night stay cost $1500, and we were frustrated and feeling less than whole. Only at checkout were we informed about discounted stays for medical patients affiliated with NW Hospital.
