The location was great, the room was clean and comfortable, and the restaurant was excellent. The staff were very helpful and gladly provided an earlier breakfast when we requested it. I would have preferred a walk‑in shower.

The Star Inn 1744, nestled in Thrussington beside the River Wreake, blends 18th‑century charm with modern comforts. Guests enjoy freshly cooked meals, real ales, and all‑day tea service, plus a continental or full English breakfast. Spacious rooms feature wooden décor, flat‑screen TVs, tea/coffee facilities, and tiled bathrooms with hairdryers. Free Wi‑Fi, proximity to Leicester, and a 30‑minute drive to Nottingham complete the experience.

The room was gorgeous, and the décor in the hotel and bar was lovely. I could hear people outside the window and coming down the steps, which made it hard for me as a light sleeper.

Clean and modern rooms were comfortable, but the pillows and continental breakfast could have been a touch better—no marmalade, limited fresh fruit, and no fruit juice.

The location was perfect for us since my son works and lives nearby, and the price was reasonable.

The place was nice and unique, though the dinner wasn’t the best.
