“Not recommend and honestly not worth the price.”
The neighbourhood was pleasant and there was free parking. Breakfast was decent, with generally good views of the nearby hills and ocean. The staff were friendly enough, though I’ve seen better service at 3‑star places; this was a 4‑star? I had half‑board for two nights and the dinner was definitely tasty. Unfortunately, that’s all the positives I can mention because drinks weren’t included, not even water, except at breakfast – you have to pay otherwise, €3 for a glass of water…!! Even though there were plenty of free water fountains nearby where you can refill your bottle, the staff never mentioned them; I found them myself. They had a small pool that I didn’t find appalling and didn’t use. I’d say a maximum of four adults could swim there at a time. A lot of negatives. The room was very small for the price and a 4‑star venue; the view was okay, but the facilities were VERY lacking – no fridge, no AC, not even a fan, and the toilet and bathroom were very meager and bland – I can’t imagine staying there during the 2026 heatwaves. There was zero soundproofing; I could hear my neighbours as much as a cough or whisper in the next room – no privacy. Ventilation was poor, so at night I had to open the window and hear the very irritating sound of loud frogs despite earplugs – sleep was uncomfortable. I don’t know if hotels in that part of Madeira are generally less worth the money, but overall the price was too high. Having stayed at many hotels, including another in Madeira that same week, I feel this was a 3‑star experience, not a 4‑star, and not worth the price. I’m not sure who I’d recommend this hotel to – not couples, not larger families or older kids, but maybe families with younger children who could use the pool? (Why not just go to the many amazing beaches or swimming options instead?)
