The entrance was a window, not a door, and the window had a lock that was the key to the building. To lock it, you had to close not just the window but also all the heavy, stiff metal shutters, which was a hassle when going out or coming back. Because the window was a sliding type, it couldn’t be shut quickly, so mosquitoes kept coming in. That’s understandable, but the room had no mosquito‑repellent tools like an earth‑mat or incense. As expected, mosquitoes entered, so even after showering I had to apply the insect repellent I brought for when I left. The shower and toilet are separate from this building, so the same tedious shutter‑closing routine was needed when using them. The washbasin outside the toilet is very small, making hand washing difficult, so I used the shower room’s shower instead. With the toilet and shower outside, I worried about cockroaches entering. When checking in, I didn’t immediately know which building “Hanae” referred to (I didn’t expect to enter through a shutter or use a lock).

Clean. The check‑in was late – the ferry arrives at 11:45, so a 15:00 check‑in made luggage handling tough. At check‑out, the reception tablet threw an error, which was annoying!

Mid‑island location, so very short walks to many sights like Yahija Beach and Mahana Observatory. The beds were excellent with air‑conditioning. I booked the Economy room, but it was still a great experience. The toilet, shower, and laundry area are outside the room. The place is still fairly new, so it’s constantly improving. From my side, only minor tweaks were needed, which will likely be fixed on the next visit.

The location is good, close to the shop and the Soba‑Shop. It’s tucked away from the street and in a second row, so it’s very quiet. I stayed in the smaller unit. The comfort is simple and understated. Questions and needs were answered quickly; the on‑site man is friendly and helpful. The bike is a bit awkwardly placed in the room; a small table would be fine instead :-)
