The quiet setting made it easy to get to the beach with the dog, the bus stop was 500 m away, and a bike with a trailer lets you explore the island well if you enjoy moving around; two restaurants are right nearby. In early October evenings it got dark early, so without a car you have to get up early to bike or take the bus into town, which means you need a schedule that fits that; this is a very personal issue.

We were completely thrilled! The loft we received was stunning and exceeded our expectations, everything was very clean, stylish, and thoughtfully decorated, and we felt comfortable right away. Absolutely nothing to complain about; we were 100 % satisfied and would return anytime.

A lovely, carefully designed place with a very kind host. The room was clean. Free bathrobes were provided for the sauna and a minibar offered a wide selection at fair prices—perfect for relaxing. We would come back any time.

“Gelukkig een kamer in een uithoek van Borkum”

The best part, though it sounds odd, is that it exists. Staying is mainly possible in the place Borkum on Borkum. A walker who wants to stay at another point has few options. The light advertising says they are the last “Gasrstätte” before Juist, the next Wadden Island. The hotel is in a large old farmhouse with a separate restaurant, well maintained, with excellent rooms featuring a modern ensuite with a nice shower. The restaurant in the same building is a plus, but it is also “German cuisine”. The hotel is small; check‑in was done with a note at the reception and a text on the window. Later, proper contact was made. Breakfast starts at 9 am, which I, as a walker, find too late if you still want a hearty walk.
