“Disappointed”
The bungalows are surrounded by nature and we saw a monkey family, a heron, iguanas. Fabio at the reception was friendly and helpful at any time of the day. Montezuma area is a good starting point to explore around. We had chosen this place because it was recommended in the Lonely Planet, but we have to say we were quite disappointed. The bungalow would need some repairs and enhancements. Eg. No shades to the windows for the 3rd person sleeping in the kitchen, air conditioning dripping over the bed, bed-side tablet about to fall down, no clean up service over the four nights we stayed. Best beaches are not the ones closest to the hotel: car rental is mandatory anyways
The staff were welcoming, the pool was refreshing, and the spot was quiet.
The pool in the jungle was great.
Superb accueil.
“El lugar está sencillo pero hermoso!”
The place looks gorgeous, just needs a bit more extra care to be spectacular; the idea is always to improve extra comforts for guests. I strongly recommend renting a vehicle to reach nicer beaches, and if you plan to cook, bring your own oil, salt, lighter, and food— they suggest buying in Cobano or nearby, which is fine because nothing is close, making it quieter. The water is potable, but I advise buying bottled water in Cobano and using the local tap only for bathing or washing dishes. Remember it’s a forested area with many animals, which was nice. The rooms are very small, so keep that in mind; the bathroom key fob didn’t work, so we had to coordinate to open it when we entered because we got locked in. The air conditioner cools slowly at first but then works better; it drips a little water onto the small bed, and it makes a strange noise at night. The lawn needs more cutting and the pool should be kept cleaner because frogs lay eggs at night, but that’s normal. Being in a wooded area is wonderful and has great potential, but it needs daily upkeep. There’s no microwave, rice cooker, or coffee machine—only a coffee press. The kitchen gas is inside the extra small room, which is very dangerous; it must be moved outside with a special cover to avoid future accidents.
