“very average place to stay”
The resort’s location is pretty bad, far from Kasauli, and housekeeping leaves dust on furniture and in the poolside sitting area.

In mid‑July 2026 I spent three nights at Chillaru Resort, and it was a delight for many reasons. First, the setting in a mountainous forest kept me away from city noise and highways, offering a visual feast and a chance for soul‑contemplation. Second, the staff were exceptionally trained, friendly, and welcoming, handling every request promptly and professionally. Third, the facilities were gorgeous—from the guest rooms to the pool, dining room, and public areas. Anyone seeking a restful, full‑service vacation surrounded by nature and fresh air should consider Chillaru Resort.

I appreciated the clean, spacious room, the peace and quiet, and the well‑equipped bathroom with a hot shower. I also liked the property’s open spaces and the pool, and the room service was prompt. However, the decor was confusing, with each area featuring a different style. Indoor spaces like dining and banquet smelled of rain, and the abundance of artifacts and decor items made the wood look cheap due to the varnish. There was no cohesive theme, and the food was underwhelming for the price; dishes were overly spicy and heavy on masala.

Serving staff was very helpful. *Rating: 1/5 - DO NOT BOOK. Health & Safety Hazard* We booked this property via http:// and it was the worst stay we’ve ever had. *No electricity for 6 hours. No backup.* Dark rooms, no fans, no lights. Complete blackout with zero support from the hotel. *Rats in the room.* There was a clear hole behind the bed that was being used as an entry point. We saw rats inside the room. This is not “old property charm” — this is a health hazard. *Pool was extremely dirty.* The water was murky and clearly not maintained. Unusable and unsafe. *Staff was unhelpful until we demanded action.* The ground support team did nothing until my friend asked for an immediate refund and checkout. Only after we said we would file a complaint with http:// did they agree to shift us to another room. @, how is a property with no power backup, rodent infestation, and unhygienic facilities still listed on your platform? This is false advertising and a safety risk. We are requesting a *full refund* for this stay. No one should have to pay for this

The location is amazing, the staff and owner are super friendly, and the chef delivers fresh food that goes above and beyond. The servers are equally good, and the swimming pool is neat with an amazing view. Overall, a great spot to relax and spend holidays. The only downside is the occasional monkey visits on the balcony, which makes enjoying tea there difficult, and the spa was poorly managed—I couldn’t use it even though I was looking forward to it.
