Having a private toilet and sink, plus air‑conditioning, a fan and a TV made the stopover perfect for resting, yet the shared bathroom with a lock‑less changing area was a drawback; I arrived early and managed a shower before other guests showed up, so it worked out.

Getting there was easy, but the dust was overwhelming and the 22:30 curfew made late‑night outings in Himeji or nearby towns practically impossible.

The owner was a kind old man who ran the place by himself. Despite my last-minute booking and late arrival, he was very accommodating. However, the room was a bit of a letdown - there was no tea or water provided (you had to pay 150 yen for a 250ml bottle), and the towels and room smelled strongly of mildew. There was no separate smoking area, so the room still reeked of cigarette smoke. The bedding didn't feel clean, and there was no hair dryer in the room.

The location was great, with a beautiful view of the mountains from the window. However, the room was a bit of a disappointment - the bedding and towels were dirty, and the room was equipped with only a TV, air conditioner, and a few hangers. For the price, it was a bit of a rip-off.
