The spot is convenient, right at the start of the road to the Buracão and Fumacinha waterfalls, and the breakfast, although served in the room, was plentiful and tasty; the bathroom felt cramped, the fridge kept at reception for water storage was somewhat dirty and smelled odd, and the bed was extremely hard, which ruined my sleep—add to that a rooster roaming the grounds that started crowing at 5:30 am right outside my door, stealing precious rest before my hikes. I had booked two nights but, after this experience, asked to cancel the second night and was refused by the owner, so I moved elsewhere. It isn’t a terrible place, but it certainly doesn’t merit a 9.3‑star rating as the reviews claim, and I wanted to warn future guests since no one told me beforehand.

The owner of the lodge is very helpful and attentive. Breakfast is simple but delicious. The view from the place is beautiful. There isn’t a good set of linens for the beds, and the bathroom could at least have a mini soap.

Our stay was made truly special by the warm hospitality of the property owner, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at ease. The stunning ocean views from our room were the perfect icing on the cake.
