The atmosphere matched the photos and felt very calm. The facilities weren’t old, stayed clean, no odors, and for a North American hotel it was unusually comfortable. In the lobby shown in the main photo you’ll find a free coffee corner and a paid bar, all arranged to let you relax. The breakfast might feel a bit sparse if you expect a Japanese buffet, but a traditional continental breakfast is pretty standard. The menu changes daily, so it never gets boring.

“Like an old fashioned high class hotel”

The room was amazing, staff were always available and helpful, breakfast was great, afternoon coffee and tea were nice, and the room service appointments were on point. Parking was sometimes unavailable.

The location is central. The breakfast is simple and boring, the staff are lazy, the rooms are old, the air‑conditioning is noisy, the carpets are old and creepy, and the rooms are very sensitive to noise.

The location was gorgeous right across from the basilica, and walking to restaurants and sites was easy. Our rental bikes were stolen from the hotel property bike rack, even though it was locked. The hotel should not let bikes sit outside and should provide a safer storage spot (not through the lobby and down the elevator). Guests need to be warned about this. Police said bike theft is very common, and the bike rental place confirmed it.
